ANC 1E adopted a resolution calling on DHCD to improve transparency and notice around condominium warranty security after The Exchange Condominium at 3619 Georgia Avenue NW experienced confusion and potential financial exposure related to a missing or delayed warranty bond. The resolution urges DHCD to notify condominium associations when warranty security is received, renewed, changed, or released; review past enforcement cases where associations may not have been notified; provide ANC 1E and the Council with an update on public access to warranty-security records; and work with relevant District partners to issue plain-language guidance for condominium associations and ANCs.
