Description
Expresses its strong support for the policy objectives articulated in D.C. State Board of Education Resolution SR25-9 and for the Let Students Attend Kindergarten Emergency, Declaration Resolution, and Temporary Amendment Acts of 2025; Urges the Council of the District of Columbia to move expeditiously to enact temporary legislation and a permanent law that (a) allows students who turn five years old on or before December 31 of a given school year to enroll in kindergarten that same year, and (b) eliminates inconsistencies between compulsory attendance age and first-grade entry requirements. Calls on the Mayor and Council to include sufficient funding in the FY 2026 budget to support additional kindergarten seats, early-childhood professional development, and any necessary facility modifications
