On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, ANC 1E’s Transportation and Public Spaces Committee heard a presentation outlining details for the 15th Annual Rock N’ Roll DC Half Marathon. Portions of the course run through ANC 1E—SMD 1E05 southbound along 5th Street NW and SMD 1E07 at 4th and Bryant Street NW heading eastbound along Bryant to North Capitol Street. The Commission is supportive of the current plans to notify affected residents and plans to mitigate traffic concerns. Therefore, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the duly noticed monthly public meeting of ANC 1E, the Commission voted to support the plans and endorse the special event application for the half marathon scheduled on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Additionally, ANC 1E will be communicating the temporary closures through our mailing lists, social media, and website.
