Description
This resolution is requesting adjustments to the timings of traffic signals major intersections: crease the pedestrian light timing to comply with Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) regulations of 1 second per 3.5 feet at all intersections on North Capitol St NW and 1st St NW located in ANC 5E • Adjust the pedestrian light timing from 31 seconds to 45 seconds for pedestrians to cross northbound 1st St NW at the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue NW • Adjust the pedestrian light timing from 31 seconds to 45 seconds for pedestrians to cross southbound 1st St NW at the intersection of T St NW • Adjust the pedestrian light timing from 30 seconds to 40 seconds for pedestrians to cross eastbound R St NW safely at intersection of North Capitol Adjust the EB pedestrian light timing at Florida Avenue NW and R St NW to 45 seconds • Upgrade the current pedestrian light infrastructure ‘beg buttons’ at North Capitol St and Bryant St NW and North Capitol St and Channing St NW to APS
