Advisory Neighborhood Commission 4B requests consideration of the following mechanisms to address traffic safety concerns at these intersections, as well as any other traffic calming and traffic safety infrastructure that the District Department of Transportation might consider appropriate: – deployment of automated traffic enforcement at both intersections to prevent drivers from blocking the box and enhance the safety of all road users; – deployment of automated traffic enforcement or other traffic enforcement at the intersection of Missouri Avenue, NW, and New Hampshire Avenue, NW, to prevent drivers from using the right-turn only lane as an illegal pass lane; – deployment of traffic control officers at both intersections, as appropriate, to prevent drivers from blocking the box and to prevent drivers from using the right-turn only lane as an illegal pass lane at the intersection of Missouri Avenue, NW, and New Hampshire Avenue, NW;
