Advisory Neighborhood Commission 4B officially passed Resolution #4B-26-0502 to demand external oversight and programmatic accountability regarding the District of Columbia Housing Authority’s (DCHA) administration of the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP). While ANC 4B unequivocally supports the mission of the HCVP to provide safe, dignified housing, a multi-year breakdown in the application of "Rent Reasonableness" standards has created severe market distortions and fiscal mismanagement on the 6300–6500 blocks of North Capitol Street, the unit blocks of Tuckerman Street and Underwood Place NE and NW, and the 6400 block of Kansas Avenue, NE. The resolution formally requests that the DC Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and the DCHA Office of Audit and Compliance conduct specific financial and structural investigations in order to address these longstanding payment discrepancies.
